A U.S. Representative accompanied the Missionaries/mercenaries in 1820.

Arguments Used to Claim the Crown Lands by the U.S.
U.S. General Charles E. Compton was assigned to claim the Kamehameha's Crown Lands in 1899.

The following are the Crown Lands & Government Lands Deeds found at the Archives, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii by my brother John and myself.
The Deeds are self-explanatory..........so what does the entity "Pretend" government see? or perhaps they are maka-po? ;)
Kamehameha's Descendants and Successors existed in 1848 and their descendants and successors exists today.
Queen Liliuokalani through genealogies was a part of the Kamehameha Dynasty, as well as her brother King David Kalakaua.
Queen Liliuokalani had multiple claims as one of the heirs and successors of Kamehameha III.

They dishonestly claimed that Bernice Pauahi Bishop was "the last of the Kamehameha's".
Like U.S. President Trump who identifies the 'Fake Media' etc., Historical facts reveals that the Hawaiian Kingdom/Kingdom of Hawaii - the Legitimate government also had 'Fake Media' in place.
A "Pretend government" with the help of the 'Fake Media' led to fraud, corruption, piracy, pilla ging, racketeering, genocide, etc. which enabled pirates, criminals to deceive, conspire, defraud the true land owners including the Crown Lands which the "Pretend government" called the "Ceded Lands" disregarding the content of the actual deeds shown above.
Legally, the Crown Lands belongs to Kamehameha III - Kauikeouli for 'himself, his heirs, and successors, forever' and Not to Aliens unrelated to the Kamehameha's.
Legally, the Government Lands are to be taken cared of by the Kamehameha's who make up the House of Nobles. Note: The Hawaiian government, the Legitimate Royal government is made up of three (3) parts - 2 permanent parts and 1 temporary voted in part. The Sovereign - his heirs and successors is a permanent part, and the House of Nobles - their heirs and successors is the other permanent part of the Legitimate Royal government. The third part is the House of Representatives, a temporary, voted in part of the Hawaiian government, the Legitimate Royal government.
The "Pretend government" is an illegitimate, fictitious set up that cannot exist and is not meant to exist legally, in a rule of law, U.S. Constitution, international law set up. It has no Annexation, No Jurisdiction, has no standing in international law, and has no Sovereignty but reliant on its developer - U.S. President McKinley under the United States - American Empire. In 1898, the United States became two (2) nations: 1. American Empire - deals with territories, and 2. United States - deals with nations that has Treaties.
Kamehameha III's Crown Lands Deed applies to only 'himself, his heirs, and successors, forever'. Kamehameha's descendants and heirs exists. Bernice Pauahi was Not the "last of the Kamehameha's, and the entity Territory turned State of Hawaii is Not the "successor" of the Kingdom of Hawaii as claimed by the Attorney General of the Territory of Hawaii in 1912. The Kingdom of Hawaii was invaded by the U.S. Military which attacked a friendly, neutral, non-violent nation that has Full Sovereignty.
U.S. President William McKinley had the Army, Navy, and other personnel create a Territory of the United States, then changed it to the Territory of Hawaii that had no sovereignty.
U.S. President William McKinley also supported the Provisional Government, turned Republic, then Territory that had no Sovereignty.
He made the officers Americans and gave them a Protectorate while removing the Protectorate status from the Kingdom of Hawaii.
Furthermore, he created two (2) nations: (1) the American Empire which operated with Territories that had no sovereignty, and (2) the United States - operated with nations that had treaties and sovereignty.
U.S. President William McKinley failed to follow the rule of law, failed in following the U.S. Constitution of 1787, Article 6 which states that treaties are "the supreme law of the land", the 1850 Amity and Permanent Friendship Treaty between Kamehameha III, his heirs and successors and U.S. President Zachary Taylor, and breached the Neutrality Law of 1854.

U.S. President William McKinley documented that the U.S. was interested in the Kingdom of Hawaii since 1820.
Kamehameha had died in 1819, and the missionaries/mercenaries arrived in 1820.
McKinley highlighted the following dates:
1820 - sent a Representative agent of the U.S. to Hawaii.
1843 - U.S. intervention caused recognition of Hawaii as an independent state.
1851 -
1875 - Reciprocity Treaty with the U.S.
1884 - Perpetual cession of Pearl Harbor to the U.S.
1888 - Proposal for neutrality with the U.S., Germany, and Great Britain declined.
1893 - Annexation expected for 70 years (1820 - 1893).

U.S. President William McKinley failed to follow rule of law, U.S. Constitutional law, article 6 - Treaties are the Supreme law of the land, failed to respect the 1850 Friendship and Amity Treaty, breached the Neutrality Law passed by Kamehameha III in 1854, failed to follow International Laws, etc.
He also supported genocide against a neutral, friendly, non-violent nation, and promoted a military enterprise and moved to war against a non-warring, and peaceful nation.
