About genealogies in Hawaii: Interesting... our genealogies are documented in the 1867 newspaper article ....the chart that you have is interesting, elaborate dated 2002.........our great great grandmother was Princess Poomaikelani who headed the Hawaiian Genealogical Society during King Kalakaua's days and Queen Liliuokalani's days...........which means our information supersedes the Cockett's chart. Posting this for the records. btw "kanaka maoli" was used by Kamehameha III and also used by our family. "Kanaka maoli" defines our people in a separate grouping which does not allow Aliens to use this. a good example is the Rice vs. Cayetano case which attempts to use Native Hawaiian as anyone born in the islands and entitled to benefits which is exclusively for kanaka maoli...... the twisted versions of legalese resulted in all kinds of frauds as found in history and there are no statutes of limitations on prosecuting fraud. Reference: Census records, and recent postings made by Kamaunu Kahaialii. Lastly, be cautious on attempting to link to other countries because Mormon records are subjective mostly without evidence. When producing documentation for our genealogies with the burial group when Kanai Kapeliela was with them, he confided that many Hawaiians produced names of many parties that were not related...........Our Great grandmother Princess Poomaikelani from the Kingdom of Hawaii produced a book of genealogies which can be ordered, picked up at the Archives, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. In other words, her work is credible and documented as well....and we continue her Hawaiian Genealogical Society of which I am one of the Representatives even today. Suggest everyone order a copy from the Archives or contact us for a copy. email: hwngensoc.akg@juno.com Know that we are the true blues and not pirates who have criminally claimed what does not belong to them.... oh lastly our line is the Kamehameha line and NOT Kamehameha Nui line which was used by the Aliens to defraud our families.........noticed your Kamehameha Nui statements..........oh, the 1867 article by Samuel Kamakau uses Kamehameha Nui but it appears he was bought and sold out to the Aliens and helped them to claim that there were no more Kamehameha's but our family's research shows otherwise.............Happy New Year everybody ...........oh lastly, do not use HRS172-11 - that's the occupier's laws which was converted to defraud... instead of the true "heirs and successors" the occupiers changed it to "heirs and assigns".... it matters when one studies laws too...... aloha.

Maoli in legal terms describes something belonging to a particular nation, as in: Kanikele maoli ko Farani…. French Consul/Consul of France…. That’s why they want all the dingbats to make it about race.

Kawika Kapunahelehaupuowaipio Kailiokalani wrong --look up the Census Records 1890 and also know that Kamehameha III used the term kanaka maoli ----- ask Kamaunu Kahaialii for more info ..........the term sets apart our people from the Aliens who have identity thieved our people in the past.............also see the outcome of the Rice vs. Cayetano case --- to use Native Hawaiian allowed anyone born in the islands to enjoy the benefits meant only for kanaka maoli........not everyone can use the term...it sets apart our people from Aliens........watch the legalese......be careful using derogatory terms especially when you're not aware of the legal terminologies. Kamaunu is on Maui and he's Willie K's sibling......for the records. p.s. Are you part of the Hueu Davis descendants? we are from Kailio but not Kailiokalani.

King Kalakaua didn't know who his great grandfather was it was Eia Kawaahoeola. In the Kanaina probate he put the wrong gerat grandfather so the genealogy Society books are wrong even the King didn't know his own genealogy you can imagine how many mistakes they made.

King Kalakaua's mother Keohokalole was a hanai/adopted daughter of a Kamehameha descendant............therefore, he and his siblings were part of the Kamehameha Dynasty. Keohokalole was also a member of the House of Nobles.
