Pua Case
Aloha Kakou, the ʻAha Pule ʻĀina Holo Makahiki Relay began today from Honokaʻa with a sunrise blessing sent early this morning from the Ala Hulu Kupuna on Mauna... Kea. Please follow and support the run and run if you can. The run blesses the land from the mountain to the sea with each footstep, prayer, chant and dance. We on the mauna will add to the spirit and message at every ʻaha on the ala for the rest of the week.
Kohala and Waimea our kuleana begins Saturday evening at Puʻukohola by receiving the runners, bringing food and hosting them for the night. We are reaching out to all who would like to participate Sunday morning so that we can provide fresh runners on the last day from Kawaihae to Kohala Statue, to the mauka road, through Waimea to Mahiki down to Waipiʻo. If you can bring a pot luck meal to Pūnana Leo o Waimea by 12 on Sunday to feed the runners and their families we would appreciate it. Committed to the run are Waimea Community Members, Mauna Kea ʻOhana, Pūnana Leo. Alo Kehau, and Parker School. Welcoming Lono and runners this year at Lanikepu will be the Espere ʻOhana. Just wear a white bandana so we can identify all runners. ʻO Lono ʻoe. Lono is coming two feet on the ground running!
