DISCUSSION

Charles Kanaina and Abner Paki's families included the Royal Families - Kalaniopuu's, Kamehameha's, Kaumualii's, John Young's, and Isaac Davis descendants because they were married to Kamehameha's and Kamehameha II's widows.

The Linking of the Royal Families Thru Genealogies
by Amelia Gora (2014)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBpYgpF1bqQ We Are Family
The following are the steps which links the Kalaniopuu’s, Kamehameha’s, and Kaumualii Families:
1. Kalaniopuu through wife Kanekapolei.
2. Kanekapolei married to Kamehameha.
3. Kekauluohi/Auhea married to Kamehameha.
4. Keopuolani married Kamehameha.
5. Namahana/Piia married Kamehameha.
6. Kamehameha had hanai children.
7. Namahana/Piia married Kaumualii.
8. Keopuolani, widow of Kamehameha married Kalaimoku/Kalanimoku – kahu and step father of Kamehameha II – Liholiho, Kamehameha III – Kauikeaouli, and Nahienaena (w) and all of Kalaniopuu’s children, Kamehameha’s children, step children, hanai/adopted children, and Kaumualii’s children. He was also the father of Leleiohoku/W.P. Leleiohoku, and hanai father of Kekauonohi/Miriam Kekauonohi who was the widow of Kamehameha II – Liholiho, a Kamehameha descendant; widow of Aaron Kealiiahonui, a Kaumualii descendant; last husband: Levi Haalelea.
9. Kekauluohi/Auhea, widow of Kamehameha married Kamehameha II – Liholiho, a Kamehameha descendant.
10. Kekauonohi/Miriam Kekauonohi, a Kamehameha descendant married Kamehameha II – Liholiho, a Kamehameha descendant.
11. Kekauluohi/Auhea, a widow of Kamehameha and Kamehameha II – Liholiho married Charles Kanaina.
12. Kekauonohi/Miriam Kekauonohi, a Kamehameha descendant, widow of Kamehameha II – Liholiho, and step mother of Kalaniopuu’s, Kamehameha’s children, step children, and hanai children, and Kaumualii’s children married Aaron Kealiiahonui, a Kaumualii descendant.
13. Kekauonohi/Miriam Kekauonohi, a Kamehameha descendant, widow of Kamehameha II – Liholiho, and step mother of Kalaniopuu’s, Kamehameha’s children, step children, and hanai children, and Kaumualii’s children married Levi Haalelea, a non-Kamehameha descendant.
14. Levi Haalelea, a non-Kamehameha descendant, step father of Kalaniopuu’s, Kamehameha’s children, step children, and hanai children, and Kaumualii’s children married Anaderia Amoe, a non-Kamehameha descendant.
Note: Kekauonohi/Miriam Kekauonohi died in 1851. One of her heirs included Kauikeaouli/Kamehameha III who died in 1854. Levi Haalelea married Anaderia Amoe in 1858 and lost all interest in Kekauonohi/Miriam Kekauonohi’s lands based on the laws of 1846 because a remarriage meant all interest in his previous marriage was extinguished. Haalelea and Anaderia Amoe did Not have interest in the lands of Kekauonohi/Miriam Kekauonohi, a Kamehameha descendant, widow of Kamehameha II – Liholiho, step mother of Kaumualii’s, Kamehameha’s, Kaumualii’s children, step children, and hanai/adopted children.
The Families/”Heirs” are linked through Genealogies. These are the Members of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the Members of the Royal Families, excepting Levi Haalelea and Anaderia Amoe who were NOT Kamehameha’s descendants.
Some of the Families are also part of the “Successors” of the Hawaiian Kingdom due to being part of King David Kalakaua’s and Queen Liliuokalani’s Families. See previous article: Genealogies – Kalaniopuu’s, Kamehameha’s, Kaumualii’s, King Lunalilo’s, King Kalakaua’s & Queen Liliuokalani’s Heirs & Successors or Why Foreigners, Americans, Englishmen Owns Nothing In the Hawaiian Islands by Amelia Gora (2014)
